Bark in the Park™ is the largest dog festival in the United States with more than 15,000 dog lovers and 3,900 dogs. Located in an expansive, tree-lined neighborhood park, this fun day features contests, celebrities, demonstrations, low cost vaccines and $5 microchipping, dog-related vendors and services, a misting tent, and kids activities. It's that time again ... time to get out and strut your stuff to celebrate our rescue pets while helping us raise funds for pets in need! Last year our SVPP team raised over $20k at the Strut Your Mutt challenge in San Francisco. It was a great event, and a beautiful setting to strut our mutts and raise awareness and funds for animal welfare organizations like Silicon Valley Pet Project. Unleash your inner Pup-casso! You’ll create your own, one-of-a-kind acrylic pup portrait on canvas, done in a style inspired by American Pop Artist Andy Warhol. We'll walk you through each step of the process - from transferring your pup's image to the canvas with graphite, to painting the background, to painting the main features of your pup, to the final finishing details. We will use vibrant, non-toxic acrylic paints. No artistic experience is necessary! Before the class begins, we will need you to email us a high-resolution digital photo of your pup. Uncropped, full-body shots with uncluttered backgrounds work best. All art materials and light refreshments will be provided. About the instructor: Mai is the founder artist of P.M.B.Q. Studios, a graphic and panda arts studio in San Jose, CA.
