Problem Solving

Strategies for problem solving issues with your dog(s).

House Training
Going to the bathroom outside is usually the first thing people want to teach their new puppy or dog. House training relies on two steps: rewarding your dog for going in the right place and preventing accidents in the wrong places.
Crate Training
A crate is a great tool for providing your dog with their own space in your home. Using a crate helps speed up house training, prevents destructive chewing, and can be used if your dog or puppy needs a break from household activity. Many behavior problems can be prevented or solved by teaching your dog to relax alone in a safe, dog-proof space.
Dog Movitation
Motivation is what inspires a dog to behave a certain way. By understanding your dog’s motivation, you can change their behavior.
Management
Most dog owners can think of at least one thing they wish their dog didn’t do. Stopping unwanted behavior is the main reason owners seek out dog trainers and other behavior advice. But your dog might not need training - they may just need “management”.
Understanding Aggression
In many cases, aggressive behaviors are normal but undesirable. Of course, this doesn’t mean you can’t do anything to decrease the behavior!
Helping Your Fearful Dog
A dog that is shy, fearful, or wary may also have other behavior issues such as aggression, handling issues, or conflict with other pets. They need your help to change their emotional reactions.
