Let's talk about Zoey: she is a bit shy. Good thing she's absolutely gorgeous! Her fur is this incredible dark brown/black mackerel tuxedo tabby markings but as you brush your hand over her fur, she has a light grey undercoat. We honestly don't know what to call her fur color! Is she a tuxedo? Yes! But also a mackerel tabby, well yes... and a grey undercoat, too? Heck, we have no idea. Like so many animals, she was surrendered to the San Jose shelter by her owner who was moving out of the country. While her family did the right thing (rather than simply leaving her behind), Zoey's arrival to the shelter was a total shock to her. In her foster home, Zoey is settling in! She goes onto her foster mom's bed, allows petting, and even head-butts her foster mom to solicit more attention. Zoey is doing well with the foster mom's older sons, and her son who works from home also sits with Zoey and pets her. She is still getting to know her foster mom's other cats. Zoey eats like a champ in order to keep her fluffy body and luscious fur in good shape. She likes both dry food and a variety of wet foods. Zoey is healthy, eats well and uses the litterbox correctly. Her adoptive humans must be prepared for a slow warm up from Zoey, expect to be patient with her! Over time, she will start to adjust and feel more comfortable and give you love back. It's likely she will never climb the curtains, knock over your plants, or try to climb your leg.
