Amazing Martin!
Martin represents one of the many special-needs pets who, through no fault of their own, end up in a large, municipal shelter at risk of euthanasia. This 4-pound dynamo was born with the odds stacked against him. First, he has Cerebellar Hypoplasia -- an untreatable but benign and manageable condition that causes him to have jerky, uncoordinated movements. Second, he had cataracts that rendered him essentially blind. And third, he's a black cat. Black animals, both dogs and cats, are typically the last to be adopted. Despite his challenges, Martin is a happy and spunky little kitten who loves to play, purrs up a storm and uses the litterbox like a pro! He loves to explore and gets along famously with both cats and dogs in his foster home. Martin’s doctors felt his life would be greatly enhanced with cataract surgery and we agreed. He had the surgery in early August and now we’re asking for your help to replenish our funds. Martin's medical costs are expected to total approximately *$2,250.00. Your donation of any amount will help us to cover those costs so we can afford to rescue more animals like him -- animals that deserve a chance to live a long, happy life in a forever home. *Pet Awareness and Welfare Society for San Jose Animal Care and Services provided $500 for this animal’s medical care.
