Mamba is a 2 year-old, 80 pound male Lab/Shepherd mix. Mamba is young, smart and has s o much potential! He is well trained, sweet, loving, funny, and a bit impulsive.  Plus, he is very, very handsome!

Mamba has overcome so much in his young life. He was dumped at the shelter by an abusive owner and then he tested positive for heartworm. After months of treatment, love and training, Mamba is at last ready for his forever home!

Mamba has been working on his training and socializing and already knows Sit, Down, Touch, Stay and Spot. He is coming along quickly with his marker word "Yes!" and working on his Roll Over and Turn Around tricks! Mamba loves to play with balls, tug toys, and snuggle with his humans. He walks beautifully on leash and loves to hike, visit the beach, take naps in the sun and go for long rides in the car.

Mamba is a bit fearful of new people and has some anxiety for which he is receiving medical treatment, but with a slow approach, time, and patience, he can overcome his fear. Once he does, his love knows no bounds!

Mamba's ideal home will love a dog with good energy, and perhaps even have another big dog or two who can show this young boy the ropes. He will benefit from continued, high quality training and help learning that people are not scary. SVPP will provide the foster/adopter with training assistance and support.

Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.
